Synopsis:
This was the transitional episode of the series from "Sheriff of Cochise"
to "United States Marshal" where Sheriff Frank Morgan of Cochise County is
asked to become a U.S. Marshal for the state of Arizona. The title card for
the episode is "United States Marshal." The episode involves the transfer of
Federal witnesses by Sheriff Morgan in Cochise County to the U.S. Marshal
in neighboring Tucson, AZ. A "hit" is placed on the witnesses and in an
ensuing gun battle the U.S. Marshal is mortally wounded. At the end of the
episode Sheriff Morgan is asked to become the new U.S. Marshal. [RBH]
